Summary:

HCCA won a close game against QoC by 15 runs.

Batting:

HCCA won the toss and elected to bat in wet conditions. Shafi and Rohit opened the innings and played well in tough conditions. Shafi got out hitting a full toss to the gully fielder. Ruchir came in next. Rohit then got out caught behind soon after wards. HCCA were in a bit of a bother at 40 odd for 2 wickets. Chakri came in and started timing the ball right from the beginning. He ran with urgency. HCCA went into the break at 91/2 in 15 overs. Soon after the break Chakri was out caught and bowled to a Chetan who held the catch superbly. It ended a good innings from Chakri who was looking very dangerous. Satish, Zubair didn't have a good day with the bat and were out to bad shots., Prathamesh got out to a good ball the cut in sharply. Basit the man in form walked in next and settled in very quick. He and Ruchir went into the 30th over break with the scoreboard at 190/6. Soon after the break Ruchir departed for 65. It was a rash shot under the circumstances. Tushar.B was out trying to score quickly. With just 2 wickets left HCCA was in danger of getting all out without finishing their quota of 40 overs. Both Basit and Akash played the last 8 overs with great maturity. They ran well and picked the bad balls very well. Basit ended up with a well made 62 off 42 balls and Akash scored 15-20 odd.

HCCA ended up with 252/8 in 40 overs.

 Bowling:

Rohit and Shafi started the bowling for us. Both of them hit the right areas and created a few chances in beginning but we couldn't get a breakthrough. The 1st wicket fell in the 15th over to a brilliant piece of fielding from Tushar.B. The batsmen tapped the ball for a quick single, he ran in from mid on and flicked the ball to the non striker end in one motion. Zubair got another wicket in that over. With the fall of those wickets QoC went into the break with score reading at 66/2 in 15 overs. It was a perfect way to go into the drinks break. Kedar and Supratim then consolidated to make sure they didn't lose any more quick wickets. They added some 80 odd runs. There was some aggressive running by both Kedar and Supratim. We knew that one mistake and the pressure is all on QoC. The next wicket also fell to a brilliant piece of out fielding from Prathamesh. He threw in a perfect throw from the cover boundary to find Kedar short of his ground. At the 30 over mark QoC was sitting at 166 odd. They needed 90 run off the last 10 overs with wickets in hand. Supratim found a capable partner in Chetan. They were getting 10 odd runs every over. The 34th over from Rohit went for 20 runs as Chetan hit 2 sixes. This changed the equation dramatically and now QoC needed just 7 runs an over. The pressure was on HCCA. The out fielding again got us a wicket with the run out of Supratim. This time it was Zubair from long on. With a new batsmen in the middle Chakri bought in an extra fielder and dried up the singles. Satish who bowled brilliantly got the danger man Chetan out with a top spinner. With that the tail was exposed. QoC needed 17 off the last over but could manage only 2 and were all out.
